Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have warned consumers against the use of several child-related products due to safety concerns ranging from flammability hazards to metal contamination and injury risks.

No injuries have been reported in Canada in connection with the products at this time.

Pip + Phee bamboo footed sleepers recalled due to flammability hazard

The recall involves the “Dusk” and “Alaskan” styles in size 12–18 months with batch number BN 2023061, located on the heat seal at the neckline.

According to the notice, the products exceed tight-fitting sleepwear requirements and are classified as loose-fitting sleepwear, which violates federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear.

Loose-fitting sleepwear can more easily contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles or matches, and once ignited may burn rapidly, potentially causing severe burns over large areas of a child’s body.

Consumers are being told to immediately stop using the sleepers and contact Two Line Brands Inc. at hello@twolinebrands.com for a replacement product.

About 51 units were sold in Canada between August 2025 and May 2026. The products were manufactured in China and sold through retail channels across the country.

Health Canada is reminding consumers that recalled products must not be resold, redistributed or given away under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.

Bambi & Birdie Kids LTD sleep sack recalled over fire risk

A separate recall has been issued for Bambi & Birdie Kids LTD children’s bamboo footed sleep sacks due to a similar flammability hazard.

The affected product is a white sleep sack with black heart print available in sizes 6–12 months, 12–18 months and 2–3 years.

The recall says the sleep sacks also fail to meet children’s sleepwear flammability requirements and pose a potential burn risk if exposed to ignition sources.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the product and return it to Bambi & Birdie Kids LTD for a full refund. The company can be contacted at 604-532-3724 or via email at hello@bambiandbirdie.com.

Nearly 57 units were sold in Canada between January and April 2026. The products were manufactured in China.

FreezYums! sour gummy candy recalled due to metal pieces

The CFIA is also warning consumers about a recall involving FreezYums! Freeze Dried Candy – Sour Key Gummy after pieces of metal were found in the product.

The recall applies to 63-gram packages with the Universal Product Code (UPC) 8 02962 38817 8 and lot code BB: 2026 NO 01 052025LOT1.

According to the agency, the presence of metal pieces in food poses a physical hazard that could lead to injury if consumed.

Consumers are being told not to consume, use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.

The recall was issued by Osiris Inc. on May 11.

Belecoo 3-in-1 baby stroller car seat flagged over injury risk

An advisory warning was issued about a Belecoo 3-in-1 baby stroller sold online through AliExpress that includes a car seat that may pose an injury risk in a collision.

The advisory applies to the “Belecoo 3 in 1 Baby Stroller with Car Seat. High Landscape Stroller Luxury Infant Stroller Set Newborn Baby Car Seat Trolley Pushchair.”

The advisory says the car seat does not display Transport Canada’s National Safety Mark and has not been certified to meet Canadian safety regulations for motor vehicle restraint systems.

As a result, its use in a vehicle could increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash and may be considered illegal under provincial and territorial highway laws.

Consumers are being told to immediately stop using the car seat and dispose of it so it cannot be used again.

AliExpress has removed the product from sale, according to Health Canada, but about 10 units were sold in Canada.

Earlier recalls and safety alerts involving child products in Canada

Two similar Health Canada recalls involving child safety products have recently been published.

Earlier this year, Health Canada warned consumers about infant self-feeding devices sold on Amazon.ca that posed a choking and breathing hazard. The agency said the products are prohibited in Canada under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.

In another advisory, Health Canada recalled a wooden baby playpen gate sold in Canada due to a risk of screws loosening and detaching, creating a choking and injury hazard for children.

Both advisories emphasized that caregivers should immediately stop using the products and that no injuries had been reported in Canada at the time of the warnings.
