Health Canada is warning parents to stop using a wooden baby playpen gate sold in Canada due to a potential choking and injury hazard linked to loose screws.
The recall involves the HARPPA Wooden Baby Playpen Gate, an expandable 24-inch-tall enclosure sold under model number PP04 with lot codes 2409200385, 2412150360 and 2503080364.
“The screws on the HARPPA Wooden Baby Playpen Gate may loosen and detach from the gate, posing choking and injury hazards to children,” the notice said.
As of May 10, 2026, the company has received four reports of incidents and no reports of injury in Canada, Health Canada said.
Nearly 473 units of the affected product were sold in Canada between October 2024 and May 2025.
Health Canada is advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled product and contact HARPPA to arrange for a replacement playpen gate.
Consumers can reach the company by email at recall@harppababy.com for more information.
The federal agency also notes that under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
