A retiree can be rest assured he can sail through retirement quite comfortably.

Scot C., 64, from Owen Sound, Ont., won $1 million in OLG’s Lotto Max draw on April 7, turning a rainy day right on its head.

He asked his partner to check his ticket, so she ran into the store. Scot described her jumping up and down and waving for him to come in the store.

“I went inside, looked at the ticket checker, and was in total disbelief,” Scot said.

He said when he shared the happy news with his family, they thought it was a joke.

Scot said he plans to spend the money on a new vehicle, home renovations and future investment.

The winning ticket was purchased at Daisy Mart on 14th Street West in Owen Sound.

All seven Encore numbers were in the exact right order. Encore, offering two draws every day, provides people 22 ways to win and can be played with most lottery games for an additional dollar.
