Homicide detectives are taking over a Squamish RCMP missing person case after investigators found evidence suggesting the missing man has been killed.

Stewart McLean was last seen at his home in Lions Bay on May 15, according to Squamish RCMP.

The detachment said in a news release Thursday that it was notified of the 45-year-old’s disappearance on Monday, May 18.

“Squamish RCMP initiated an investigation and, through investigative efforts, uncovered evidence that led investigators to believe Mr. McLean was the victim of a homicide,” the release reads.

McLean, also known as Stew McLean, is listed by entertainment database IMDb as an actor and producer with credits in TV series such as CW’s “Arrow” and Netflix’s “Travelers.”

The actor, born in Edmonton, last appeared onscreen in one episode of the Netflix TV series “Virgin River” released in March.

On Wednesday, the Lower Mainland’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took over the file, Squamish RCMP said.

Homicide investigators are working with the Squamish detachment and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service to advance their investigation.

IHIT has not released any public statements about the case.
