Health Canada is alerting Canadians about a brand of air fryer that has been recalled due to a “fire and burn hazard.”
The affected product is the Secura air fryer, which is black with a silver accent and the brand name on top. It’s being recalled due to a wire connection in the air fryer that can overheat, posing the risk of fire and burn hazards.
It’s reported that 680 of the air fryers were sold in Canada between May 2019 and October 2020.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and contact Secura Inc. for an Amazon.ca gift card code,” the press release reads.
The product’s model number, SAF-53 (TXG-DS16), and date codes, 1903 and 1904, are found at the bottom of each appliance. It measures about 30 cm high, 28 cm deep and 30 cm wide.
Health Canada said that customers looking for a credit or a replacement product must share their contact details and provide photos of the recalled unit with the power cord cut off. They also must share the product’s date code.
There have been no reports of injury in Canada as of May 14.
