A man successfully completed dramatic jump off a waterfall in southern Alberta in his jet boat – a stunt he says aims to raise money for water conservation.
Dusty Friesen, known online as @DustyDoeser, took his boat named Dent off Lundbreck Falls in the Crowsnest Pass on Monday.
The falls along the Crowsnest River drop approximately nine metres (30 feet), but Dusty and Dent appear to have sailed through the air much further after flying off the edge.

He told CTV News in an interview that a lot of preparation went into the stunt, such as having a safety team, building his boat and having legal protections in place.
But all that money is being spent to raise awareness for his true goal – to help clean up the world’s oceans.
Friesen said his dream is to transform the death-defying stunts into fundraisers.
“I would like to put together ocean vessels to go clean up the ocean,” he said.

While the Alberta RCMP say they are investigating the Lundbreck Falls jump, Friesen said he doesn’t believe he broke any laws with the stunt.
“I’ve looks on the Alberta Parks website, searched Lundbreck Falls, any restrictions for the Crowsnest River, any of that and I could not find anything that says it’s prohibited to launch or run the falls.”
According to Friesen’s social media, he plans to jump more falls, including Canada’s majestic Niagara Falls – but he’ll need a permit and trusty Dent will need some significant improvements before he can.

Friesen jumped off his first waterfall in 2019 near Tumbler Ridge, B.C., and the Lundbreck Falls jump was supposed to be a Guinness World Record attempt, however, Guinness representatives said it doesn’t track the record he’d hope to break, but is always interested in adding new categories.
Lundbreck Falls is located approximately two hours south of Calgary in the Crowsnest Pass.
