Researchers with Western University’s Northern Tornadoes Project have confirmed a third tornado formed during last week’s intense storms.

They had previously confirmed tornadoes in Melbourne and Lambeth.

After a damage survey on Tuesday, researchers say they have now determined there was an EF-0 tornado in Salford, east of London.

Peak winds were estimated at 125 kilometres per hour, leaving a damage trail more than 16 kilometres long.
