A bear and three cubs have been spotted in a Fredericton neighbourhood near several schools.
The Fredericton Police Force says the animals were seen on Mansfield Street near York Street.
Priestman Street School, Fredericton High School, Ecole des Bâtisseurs and École Sainte-Anne are in the area.
People are being asked to use caution, keep a safe distance and not approach the bears.
Police also shared the following tips on social media:
- keep a safe distance from all wildlife
- do not attempt to feed, follow, or interact
- secure garbage and remove outdoor attractants
- keep pets on a leash and supervised
