A 38-year-old man has been arrested after police say he robbed a convenience store in Truro, N.S., while armed with a pitchfork.
Truro Police Service received a panic alarm from a store at Queen and Walker streets around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
“Responding patrol officers confirmed a male had entered the store armed with a pitchfork and stole cigarettes,” reads a social media post from Truro police.
Officers contained the area and searched for the man. A short time later, police say the man was apprehended behind an apartment building on Walker Street.
According to police, the man was arrested and the stolen property was recovered.
He has no fixed address and remains in custody. The man is set to appear in Truro provincial court Wednesday.
