Approximately $40,000 worth of medical equipment was stolen from Montreal’s Sacre Coeur Hospital, Montreal police spokesperson Johany Charland told CTV News.
A woman went to a police station in Montreal on May 2 around 9:45 a.m. to report that a theft had occurred earlier that day at Montreal’s Sacre Coeur Hospital.
The woman reported that a man had gained access to a semi-restricted area of the hospital and stole several medical items totalling about $40,000.
Police were unable to say the woman’s connection to the case.
According to police, the suspect was reportedly seen leaving the scene.
Montreal police obtained surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses.
No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Santé Québec Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal – Universitaire told CTV News in an email that it was unable to comment on the theft due to the ongoing investigation.
