Police say the 28-year-old's injuries weren't believed to be life threatening.

Saskatoon police are trying to find the culprits responsible after a 28-year-old man was stabbed while trying to sell a phone on Sunday night. Police say a gun was also fired in the incident.

Police say officers responded to a reported shooting on the 400 block of Marlette Crescent around 10:20 p.m. Shortly after that, they were called to the 3800 block of Kochar Avenue in response to a man injured in an apparent stabbing.

The man was found in a vehicle on Kochar with a 35-year-old woman and was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Phone sale gone wrong

Saskatoon police say the man and woman had met up with two people on Marlette Crescent to sell a phone.

At some point, a male and female suspect entered the vehicle, followed shortly by another male suspect who approached the drivers’ side window with a gun, according to police.

“When the driver began to pull forward, the male in the back seat stabbed the man in the front seat,” the release read.

“The male and female suspect then got out of the vehicle before the third male approached with a firearm and reportedly fired it before all three suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.”

The Saskatoon Police Serious Assault Unit is currently investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency line or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
