Arrests made, charges laid in arson at Calgary luxury car dealership

Calgary police have charged three people after more than two dozen luxury vehicles were set on fire in March.

Three individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with a $10-million arson in Calgary.

The incident happened March 16 around 4:45 a.m. at a luxury car dealership in the 5500 block of 1A Street S.W.

Police say 25 luxury vehicles were inside at the time of the fire.

Between the vehicles and site, the damage is estimated to be around $10 million.

Arrested and charged with arson are:

  • Kais Kassoua, 45;
  • Logan Drake, 34; and
  • Chayce Krause, 31.

All three are Calgary residents.

Kassoua is next scheduled to appear in court July 2, while Drake and Krause are next scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

In a release, police said there’s “no evidence to suggest the business owner had any involvement.”

Investigation into this incident is ongoing.
