Calgary police search for youth who allegedly hit sleeping baby on the torso

Calgary police are searching for a boy accused of striking a baby in the torso near Country Village Gate.

Calgary police are investigating a disturbing incident in Country Hills Village that saw a youth hit a sleeping baby.

The assault happened in the 0-100 block of Country Village Gate N.E., near Coventry Hills Boulevard, between 4:30 and 5 p.m. on Monday, June 15.

Police say a man was pushing a nine-week-old boy in a stroller on the sidewalk, when a youth riding a scooter along the same sidewalk reached out and “struck the sleeping baby in the torso.”

The child is believed to be approximately 10 years old with short blond hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, police said.
