A quintessentially B.C. moment is going viral online, after a mountain biker caught a mama bear and her cub on video while riding up a ski lift.
Instagram user @brennon.og captured a very young bear cub climbing down a ski lift pole with apparent skill in Whistler last week.
The bear’s mother was not far away.
“He’s climbing down the ladder,” he exclaims in the video. “Look at him; he’s like a little monkey!”
The video has garnered thousands of likes and many comments, including one from Tim Hortons, saying, “you just know his mama’s tired.”
While they don’t mention anything about ski lifts or ladders, WildSafeBC says black bears are excellent at climbing trees.
