Ottawa police say an eight-year-old girl died and two others were injured following a crash south of Osgoode on Sunday.
First responders were called to a collision between a pickup truck and an SUV at the intersection of Dalmeny Road and Nixon Drive at approximately 11:50 a.m.
Ottawa paramedics said a child was transported to hospital in critical condition. On Sunday evening, police say the girl, who was travelling in the SUV, had died of her injuries.
Paramedics say a woman in her 40s in the SUV was taken to hospital in serious condition. Another six-year-old child in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.
Paramedics from Ottawa and Leeds and Grenville attended the scene.
It’s the second major crash to happen at that same intersection this month.
A young boy was airlifted to hospital and three others were injured after a collision between a sedan and a pickup truck on June 19.
Police say an investigation is ongoing and are seeking witnesses or dashcam footage of the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Investigation Unit.
