BOSTON BAR — The British Columbia Wildfire Service says it’s helping the Boston Bar Fire Department as a blaze burns close to the community in the southern Interior.

The Brunswick Creek wildfire is about 14 hectares in size as of Friday evening, and is burning out of control west of the Fraser River.

Four properties nearby have been put on evacuation alert.

The service says the fire department and two initial attack crews were joined Thursday afternoon by one of its unit crews and an additional response officer with helicopter support.

It says another crew and aviation resources were added on Friday.

However, it says aviation support on the fire may be limited due to poor visibility and challenging terrain in the area of the fire.
