Baby walkers that were sold online despite Canada’s ban on the products since 2004 are being recalled due to being a “physical hazard.”
The latest recall affects the Vevor 4 in 1 baby walker, which was sold on online home goods site Wayfair, according to a recall notice posted by Health Canada on Monday.
“Children in baby walkers are exposed to hazards that would not normally be accessible if the child were not supported by the walker, posing a variety of risks of injury to the child,” the advisory said. “Children in baby walkers can also fall down the stairs, which could result in injury or death.”
About the affected products
The California-based manufacturer, Do Home Inc., reported that 38 products were sold in Canada between April and June 2026.
The baby walker can be used in multiple ways, including as a seated walker, walk-behind support, rocker and bouncer, according to the advisory. It has a soft cushion seat and an interactive music tray.
The company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada as of June 26, according to the notice.
What should affected customers do?
The recall notice urged consumers to immediately stop using the product and ensure it won’t be used again after disposing it. The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act forbids recalled products from being sold or given away, according to the advisory.
