Canadian soccer player Alistair Johnston says a trip home following the FIFA World Cup turned into a travel nightmare, after he ended up in the wrong city and without his luggage.
The Celtic defender criticized Frontier Airlines and urged travellers to avoid the it, saying he had learned his lesson.
Johnston shared his frustration Saturday in a post on X, saying he would not fly with the airline again.
“Learned my lesson today. Never fly @FlyFrontier even if it’s the only direct flight available,” Johnston wrote.
He went on to advise travellers to consider even overnight flights with multiple stops before choosing the airline.
“Genuinely look for multi-stop redeye flights before flying with them. I’m still not sure where my bags are and I’m in the wrong city somehow.”
The post quickly drew attention online, with many users sharing similar travel experiences, while others asked where the Canadian international had been sent.
Johnston is expected to return to Scotland to rejoin Celtic ahead of preparations for the upcoming season after spending the summer in international competition.
