A Calgary landlord has been charged in connection with multiple voyeurism incidents.
On Monday, June 7, a tenant in a Calgary building said they noticed a small hidden camera that was placed on a surge protector inside their bathroom as well as a hidden camera the tenant found on a smoke detector in their bedroom.
The tenant told other tenants, who also found hidden cameras in their respective bedrooms and then contacted police.
Later that week, on June 12, investigators executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Springborough Way S.W., where they seized multiple electronic storage devices.
Police say they believe the landlord installed similar devices at another rental property located in the 3800 block of Brentwood Road N.W.
On Friday, the landlord was arrested.
Sooryong Park, 41, who police believe may also use the alias Nick Park, was charged a single count of break and enter and five counts of voyeurism.
Park is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 7.
Police believe Park may operate as a landlord in other cities including Vancouver and Toronto, targeting women from the Korean community.
