Two youths have died following a single-vehicle crash outside Lunenburg, N.S., early Saturday morning.
Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to the scene on Highway 324 in Lilydale around 6:40 a.m.
The RCMP says a Ford Bronco, travelling southeast, left the road and hit a tree.
“The youth driver and a youth passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene,” reads a news release from the force.
“A third occupant of the vehicle, a youth, was transported to hospital by EHS LifeFlight with life-threatening injuries.”
Police did not specify the youths’ ages in the release.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist also responded to the scene.
A section of the highway was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
Police say their investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
