Some grocery stores have run short on milk after an issue at an Alberta supply plant.
The issue happened at an Edmonton Saputo plant. The company also owns Dairyland.
“We recently experienced an unexpected electrical issue at our Edmonton fluid production facility that temporarily impacted production and supply,” a spokesperson wrote in an email to CTV News Edmonton.
“The issue has been resolved, and operations have now resumed. While our recovery plans are progressing well, some temporary product shortages may still occur in the near term.”
Saputo says supplies should return to normal by the end of the week, but it is working with its national supply network to help minimize impacts in the interim.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers and consumers,” the company wrote.
