Guelph Police have charged a man and a woman in the death of their infant son.
On Jan. 25, 2023, the 20-month-old child was found dead at the family’s apartment in the downtown core.
A four-year-old child was also living there at the time.
Police said an “extensive” investigation led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man and 30-year-old woman on Tuesday.
They were not identified in a media release.
Police said both had been charged with criminal negligence causing death and two counts of failing to provide the necessities of life to a child.
The cause of the infant’s death has not been shared.
