Violent attempted carjacking leaves man with life-threatening injures

Calgary police say a suspect is in custody after an attempted carjacking in the community of Martindale that left a man badly injured.

Officers were called to the 200 block of Martinvalley Crescent N.E. just before 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say the victim was taken to hospital with injuries that were later determined to be life-threatening.

Investigators are still working to determine what kind of weapon was used in the assault.
