A rescue operation was underway at a skyscraper in downtown Montreal after two window washers ran into trouble with their platform early Friday morning.
The Montreal fire department (SIM) says just before 8 a.m., its rescue team was sent to the high-rise building at 1001 Robert Bourassa Boulevard near de la Gauchetière Street.
Rescue workers were lowered from the roof, securing the window washers from around the 13th floor and bringing them down to the ground.
The SIM noted that the lives of the two window washers were never in danger, though ambulances were on site as a precautionary measure.
Montreal police (SPVM) was at the scene to assist with traffic in the area.
