ST. JOHN’S — Police in Newfoundland and Labrador have charged a man with 46 new sexual violence offences against young girls and women.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the charges were filed after analysis of several electronic devices identified 20 alleged victims, 15 of whom are youth.

The charges include sexual interference, sexual assault and 13 counts of making child sexual exploitation material.

Police first charged the man in February after responding to a report of sexual violence against a young person on Newfoundland’s northeast Avalon Peninsula.

A news release at the time said officers charged the man with crimes including possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and they expected more charges to come.

The man’s name cannot be released due to a publication ban.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published Oct. 16, 2026.
