The Manitoba government is offering support following a deadly fire at a Canadian Forces Base in Alberta.
“This is a terrible tragedy,” Premier Wab Kinew wrote on X Sunday. “My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured and everyone affected.
“We know there are families waiting for news about their loved ones, and our thoughts are with them too.”
This is a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured and everyone affected. We know there are families waiting for news about their loved ones, and our thoughts are with them too. I have been in touch with Premier Smith and federal Defence Minister McGuinty to offer assistance and our sympathies. Manitoba stands ready to help in any way we can. I also want to thank the first responders and everyone who stepped up to help during such a difficult time. We will also lower flags to half-mast to honour the lives lost.
