Guelph Police are still trying to identify 21 people in connection to an unsanctioned street party on Sept. 26.

Officials said as many as 15,000 people filled Chancellors Way to celebrate Homecoming.

Videos posted to social media showed some of the chaos on the street, including cans, smoke bombs and a plumbing pipe being thrown into the crowd.

Police said officers responded to approximately 550 incidents across the city that day and, of those, 250 were directly related to Homecoming. Those calls ranged from mischief, disturbing the peace and public intoxication to assault.

Police have released dozens of photos of people they believe were involved in some of the bad behaviour.

Police said 14 of those had been identified and 21 were still outstanding.

CTV News asked investigators how many tips they had received from the public so far.

While they couldn’t give an exact figure, police were “very pleased” with the response from the community.
