More than $1.2 million in illegal cannabis has been seized from a property in eastern Ontario.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers with the Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team launched an investigation in September into a suspected illegal cannabis production site at a property on County Road 41 in the Township of Stone Mills.

On Oct. 7, police officers executed a search warrant to access the property.

Police say officers found 409 illegal cannabis plants worth $245,000 and $960,000 worth of processed illegal cannabis. A stolen vehicle was also discovered on the property worth $80,000.

“The investigation also revealed significant fire, electrical and property safety concerns,” police said in a media release.

“Fire officials issued fines, municipal bylaw officials issued compliance orders and hydro service was disconnected due to safety risks.”

Police say no one was found on the property when officers executed the search warrant.
