A group of bikers in Barrie, Ont., said they would be taking to the road rain or shine on Tuesday, because for one of these men, there was not going to be another chance.
Pastor and biker are two things you normally do not think about together, but for Wasaga Beach’s Don Lindsay, they are inseparable.
“They’re human beings,” Don Lindsay tells CTV News.
Lindsay is over 80, but he spent many years on the back of a motorcycle.
He saw firsthand that bikers needed spiritual care, so that was what he became.
“I have married them and buried some of them,” he said.
Years have passed since Lindsay has been able to ride on his own due to his deteriorating health.
Now in hospice care, one last ride is his last wish.

On Tuesday, joined by friends, Lindsay sat on the back of a motorcycle as his son, Don Lindsay Jr., took the handlebars for his last ride.
“He worked with prisoner parole, family drug and alcohol and family violence counselling; he has the Heart of Wasaga Beach (award) for his involvement in the community there,” Don Lindsay Jr. tells CTV News.
Barrie Harley-Davidson provided the bike for his last ride.
His wife, whom he rode with most of his life, followed behind the motorcycle club as they toured around Barrie for an hour on Tuesday afternoon.
“I don’t have a whole lot of time, and I just want to be around people,” Lindsay adds.
