The city is holding another community meeting this evening before deciding the fate of the 2.5 kilometre eastern stretch of the Gardiner Expressway.

The meeting is part of the latest phase of the environmental assessment on the Gardiner, examining options for the future of the traffic artery.

So far the city has narrowed down the options to two main possibilities: removing the expressway from roughly Logan Avenue to Lower Jarvis and replacing it with an eight-lane boulevard, or a hybrid option that would see part of the elevated expressway taken down while maintaining an expressway link with the Don Valley Parkway.

At the meeting residents will have an opportunity to hear form consultants and city planning officials about how the two options might work.

The meeting will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the cafeteria at Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School at 100 Brimley Road.

A similar consultation was held April 15 at the Toronto reference Library.
