The city is investigating an incident in Ward 30 after a voter said she was given a ballot with the incumbent councillor already pre-selected as the choice.

The voter said she was handed a ballot with “Paula Fletcher” marked as the pick for councillor when they arrived at Poll 23 at Roden Junior Public School earlier today.

The voter then asked for a new ballot and was provided one, the boyfriend of the voter, TSN 1050 host Gareth Wheeler, told Newstalk1010.

“This was no small line or casual mistake - the ballot was cast with a full black line making it clear the vote was for Fletcher,” Wheeler said. “How is an already filled out ballot for just one councillor given out to a voter? This should be looked into.”

According to a City of Toronto spokesperson, no similar incidents have been reported in Ward 30 or elsewhere in the city.
