Two men are in custody in connection with a drug lab investigation in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police said.

The investigation took place at a commercial property on Hensall Circle, which is in the area of Dundas Street East and Cawthra Road.

Officers were seen clothed in hazmat suits at the scene as they bagged evidence from the Mississauga business.

The owner of the next-door business Mohammad Ali said the investigation began on Thursday afternoon.

“When we went for prayers we came back and they didn’t allow us to come to our office or even walk on the street,” he said.

Residents in the area told CP24 the investigation is "very concerning.”

“There’s a lot of children in this complex so if anything had happened, fire-wise or that, it’s concerning,” Fiona Garrard said.

Another resident said she was “confused” while learning about this investigation.

“I didn’t really know what was going on but it’s also kind of scary that something like this is going on right next to where I live.”

Police said they are investigating the area after two men were taken into custody.

No charges have been laid.

Police said there is no concern for public safety at this moment.
