A group of ducklings that fell through a sewer grate in Richmond Hill on Monday night have been rescued by emergency crews.

Police say the mother duck was walking her babies across the street sometime before 6:30 p.m. when the ducklings fell into a sewer near 15 Old Colony Road.

York Regional Police, Richmond Hill Fire and the OSPCA teamed up to get the ducks out of the sewer while the mother watched from a rooftop nearby.

Police say the ducklings are healthy and doing well.
