An elderly couple in Vaughan were taken to hospital after being shaken up as the victims of a home invasion early Saturday.
York Regional Police responded to a call at a home on Jeanne Drive in Woodbridge around 4:30 a.m. They said preliminary reports suggest two men broke into the home and roughed up the husband before making off. The motive for the attack was not clear.
Police say the man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his head, while his wife was taken to hospital as well as a precaution because of the shock of the incident. Both are in their 70s.
Initial descriptions suggest the attackers were two black males.
Police are investigating.
