A night under the stars at the Muskoka Drive In Theatre in Gravenhurst, Ont. turned into something out of a movie when Hollywood couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively stopped by with their kids.
The family rolled into the drive-in on August 20 to catch a screening of Freakier Friday, blending in with other moviegoers while enjoying popcorn, snacks and even a claw machine win.
The theatre shared the encounter in a lighthearted Facebook post, saying staff were “pleasantly surprised” when the unannounced guests arrived.

Lively, dressed in a hand-knit sweater with ‘Muskoka’ stitched across it, said it was her children’s first visit to a drive-in. Vancouver-born actor Reynolds, described by staff as witty and approachable, got a laugh when staff jokingly handed him a red, mohawked, one-eyed toy duck from the arcade - which he quickly dubbed the ‘Deadpool Duck.’

The couple and their children enjoyed their snacks like any other family, insisting on paying for everything, including admission. At the end of the night, they even needed a battery boost, something the theatre staff called part of the “full drive-in experience.”
Staff said they held off on sharing the story for two weeks to give the famous family privacy during their stay in Ontario’s cottage country.
Muskoka Drive In Theatre opened in 1952 and is located at 1001 Theatre Road.
