The iconic expression “Don’t have a cow, man,” likely didn’t apply to fans of ‘The Simpsons’ around the world on Monday, with 20th Century Studios announcing the long-running animated series is releasing a second movie, 20 years after its first one.
20th Century Studios, which co-produces the Simpsons TV show, posted a teaser on its social media accounts Monday.

“Woohoo! The Simpsons are coming to theatres with an all-new movie on July 23, 2027!” it said.
It included an image of a yellow hand, presumably that of the show’s paternal character Homer, grabbing a pink iced donut with sprinkles shaped in the number 2.
“Homer’s coming back for seconds,” the tagline read.
The first Simpson’s movie, simply titled “The Simpsons Movie,” was released in July 2007.
The show has been on the air since 1989, making it the longest-running animated sitcom, according to the Guinness World Records. It is aired internationally and dubbed or subtitled in multiple languages.
In August, an online petition was launched to save the Quebecois dubbing of the popular series, after Corus, which owns Télétoon, the channel that aired new seasons in Quebec, announced that an agreement with Disney was not renewed.
Disney has owned the rights to The Simpsons, since they acquired Fox’s entertainment business in 2019.
