The Pussycat Dolls have cancelled all but one show from the North American leg of their reunion tour, including dates in Toronto and Montreal.
The 53-date “PCD Forever Tour” would’ve been the 20th anniversary of their debut album.
“After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates,” the girl group, which gained popularity in the 2000s, wrote in an Instagram post on Monday.
Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts will still perform at the OUTLOUD Music Festival at WeHo Pride in West Hollywood, Calif., on June 6. The lone U.S. show will be meaningful for the group, according to the Instagram post, because of the longstanding “love and support” from the LGBTQ2S+ community.
Pussycat Dolls shows will go on in the U.K. and elsewhere in Europe, with several dates sold out, the group wrote.
The group didn’t share more details about the reason for the cancellations, though Variety reported that it was due to “weak ticket sales.”
Refunds will be issued automatically for those who bought their tickets through Ticketmaster or on AXS in Nashville, according to the Instagram post. Third-party resellers such as StubHub should be contacted, the group added in the post.
Former members are notably absent from the tour, with Jessica Sutta alleging that her MAGA ties played a role in the move to exclude her, Variety reported.
The Pussycat Dolls aren’t the only artists who have cancelled multiple shows recently. Meghan Trainor and Zayn were part of that club, nixing all their U.S. shows, Variety reported. Post Malone and Jelly Roll also called off part of their stadium tour.
Those artists cited different reasons for the cancellations, not poor ticket sales, wrote Variety. Sales appeared to be “notably weak” based on seating charts for their shows, with the exception of Post Malone’s stadium dates, according to the publication.
