A family escaped their north Toronto home without injury after it went up in flames early Wednesday morning.

Someone called 911 at about 1:45 a.m. to report flames shooting out of the roof of a home on Gatesgill Crescent, near Jane Street and Wilson Avenue.

Reports from the scene indicate the cause of the two-alarm blaze was electrical in nature.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, believed to have started in the attic, within about half an hour.

No injuries were reported.
