A female patient has been taken to hospital with minor injuries following a fire at a Toronto Community Housing building Tuesday afternoon.
Crews were called to the three-storey building in the Leila Lane and Varna Drive area shortly before 3 p.m.
Preliminary information indicated that the small fire may have started in a kitchen located on the building’s fire floor, firefighters said.
The female, whose age was not immediately clear, was able to evacuate the building on her own.
She was assessed by paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
