Police have released new details about a collision that left a jogger with life-threatening injuries over the weekend.

It happened in the intersection of Fort York Boulevard and Lake Shore Boulevard West just after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say that the jogger was standing on the southeast corner of the intersection waiting for the pedestrian signal.

But when the traffic light turned red for eastbound traffic some vehicles were still stuck in the intersection due to heavy traffic in the area, according to police.

“The jogger was struck by a motorcycle that was driving between two lanes of traffic,” police said in a news release issued Wednesday. “The jogger was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries

Police say that an investigation into the collision remains “ongoing.”
