A source from the mayor's office has released a list of John Tory's council appointments and the incoming mayor is proposing to have not one, but four deputy mayors to represent different regions of the city.

Denzil Minnan-Wong will be appointed deputy mayor and if approved by council, Coun. Vincent Crisanti, Coun. Glenn De Baeremaeker, and Coun. Pam McConnell will each be deputy mayors for the west, east and south respectively. Minnan-Wong would represent the north.

"I'm very honoured to have been asked," Minnan-Wong told CP24 Sunday night.

"I’m really looking forward to the challenges. We’ve got a lot to get done this council and I believe that I can make a positive contribution helping out the soon-to-be-mayor Tory."

Tory and the new council officially take over tomorrow but will take part in a public swearing in on Tuesday at city hall.

The list released Sunday night also includes members of the executive committee.

Tory's 11-member executive committee includes James Pasternak, Paul Ainslie, David Shiner, Jaye Robinson, Michael Thompson, Cesar Palacio, Michelle Berardinetti, Frank DiGiorgio and Mary-Margaret McMahon, Gary Crawford and Ana Bailao.

Josh Colle is expected to be named as the TTC chair and on the Toronto Police Services Board, in addition to Coun. Shelley Carroll and Coun. Chin Lee, Tory himself will sit on the board.

Crawford will head the budget committee and Bailao will chair the housing committee.

When asked about the lack of significant roles for left-leaning members of council, Minnan-Wong said both McConnell and De Baeremaeker are on the left end of the political spectrum.

"You can’t have everyone in a position of significance," Minnan-Wong said.

"The reality is Mr. Tory has an obligation to implement his agenda … and he has picked his team."
