A 23-year-old man who was wounded in a weekend shooting in Toronto’s west end has died of his injuries, police say.

Police said Toronto resident Qoheleth Chong was shot near College Street and Lippincott Street on Sunday at about 12:50 a.m.

He was rushed to a trauma centre, where he died of his injuries.

Police previously said the man suffered at least one gunshot wound to the neck.

No one has been arrested, but two males were seen running eastbound on College Street at the time of the shooting.

Police said the first male is black and six-foot-one with a slim, athletic build. He was wearing a tan or khaki jacket or shirt.

The second male is black, five-foot-nine and was wearing baggy, black clothing.

Chong is Toronto’s 48th homicide victim of 2012.
