Toronto police have identified a 22-year-old man fatally shot at a Scarborough highrise early Monday morning.

Shots rang out at a Toronto Community Housing complex at Eglinton Avenue and Markham Road at around 3:20 a.m.

Paramedics arrived on scene and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Toronto EMS said.

Yellow police tape cordoned off a large area outside the buildings Monday morning.

In a release issued Monday evening, Toronto police identified the victim as Dillon Phillips, of Toronto.

No information on a possible suspect has been provided.

Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the shooting, or who may have information on Phillips' activities over the last 24 hours contact investigators at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
