Toronto police believe speed was a factor in a single-vehicle crash that sent one person to hospital early Tuesday morning.

The person suffered non-life-threatening injuries when a car crashed into a pole on Scarlett Road, north of Lawrence Avenue West, police said.

The crash occurred at about 3 a.m., forcing police to close a stretch of Scarlett Road for about two hours.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Charges have not been laid.
