A man is in hospital after he was injured in a fire at an auto shop near Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue West on Monday night.

The man reportedly suffered burns and smoke inhalation.

Police remained at the auto shop Tuesday morning after emergency crews were called to the scene on Vanley Crescent at about 9:40 p.m.

Firefighters found the man inside the commercial building.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, said police spokesman Const. Victor Kwong.

A Toronto Fire Services spokesman said the blaze was small and the incident is now considered a “police matter.”
