A man has been seriously injured in a shooting in Mississauga.
Peel police say they responded to an apartment building in the area of Darcel Avenue and Dunrankin Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired.
Officers located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds, police say.
He was transported to a trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
There is no suspect information at this time.
“Our investigators are still collecting the evidence, and surveillance footage will play a large part in determining what happened here,” Const. Akhil Mooken said.
Mooken is urging anyone with information on the shooting to contact investigators or call Crime Stoppers anonymously.
“But again, like in many of our investigations, the community is our strongest asset, and we are hoping that they will be able to assist us by providing any surveillance footage or any information they have to help us locate the individuals that have unfortunately victimize this community once again.”
