A man charged in the killing of a Toronto man has been arrested at Canada’s largest airport nearly four years after the homicide, police say.

Police say they arrested 24-year-old Robert Owen Cave at Pearson International Airport on Friday afternoon, and they are still looking for two additional suspects.

Cave is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 24-year-old Kevin Phouthonesy, who was slain in front of his girlfriend Nov. 3, 2009.

Phouthonesy and his girlfriend were sitting in a car outside a community housing complex at 202 Sentinel Rd., near Keele Street and Finch Avenue West, when they were approached by three people.

Phouthonesy was then fatally shot during an argument, police say.

A warrant was issued for Cave three weeks after the homicide, but he managed to elude police for more than three years.

Meanwhile, police are asking the public for help to identify two male suspects.

The first male is black and six feet tall with a skinny build. He was last seen wearing a baggy dark grey-silver jacket with the hood up and a red bandana. The second male is black and was wearing a baggy black jacket with long pockets.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
