Mayor Rob Ford won’t be breaking bread with retired professional wrestler the Iron Sheik after all.

Sheik, whose real name is Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, had posted a message to Twitter on Saturday afternoon suggesting that he and Ford would both appear at Belly Busters Subs on King Street at 3 p.m., but Ford’s chief of staff Dan Jacobs promptly told CP24 that Ford has no plans to meet with Shiek and wasn’t even aware of the stunt.

Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time the 72-year-old Iron Sheik has tried to meet Ford.

In November, he showed up at city hall amid the height of Ford’s crack cocaine scandal and attempted to challenge him to an arm wrestling challenge, though Ford never left his office and the Sheik eventually left the premises after calling out Ford in an animated interview with reporters.

Sheik is in town promoting a documentary about his life that is screening at the Hot Docs film festival.
