The U.S. Geological Survey says there was a minor earthquake under Lake Ontario late Wednesday night.
The agency says the 2.9-magnitude quake happened just before midnight, 40 kilometres southwest of Cobourg (82 km east of Toronto).
The epicentre was under the middle of the lake, about five kilometres deep.
