Owners of an Oshawa restaurant are facing a handful of charges after police say an employee discovered a hidden camera in the staff washroom.

Durham Regional Police say an employee of Danay and Kris Family Restaurant notified investigators after finding a camera concealed in a ceiling tile of the washroom, which is used by both male and female staff members.

On Monday, officers executed a search warrant at the Bloor Street East restaurant and seized several pieces of equipment, including media storage and electronic data devices.

The owners were arrested on Tuesday without incident.

Krisztian Krenner, 42, and Danay Krenner, 39, have been charged with two counts of voyeurism, intercepting private communication, possession of a device to intercept private communication and possession of a schedule III substance. Both have been released on specified conditions.
